  • The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce has developed a variety of networks, which represent and speak to diverse areas of its membership, including the Young Professionals Network, the Women's Network, the Small Business Network, and the Government Affairs Committee.

    Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Network

Looks at the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber's diversity initiatives, ensures inclusion in Chamber programs and policies, and works towards a more equitable future for all in the Wyoming Valley.

This council will be premiering its first program, a six-part video series, in September 2020.

    Small Business Network

Supports small businesses in the Greater Wilkes-Barre region by providing educational and networking opportunities and activities that are relevant to the needs of their industry.

Programs that the Small Business Network hosts are Small Business Christmas in July, Small Business Saturday, and the Wilkes-Barre Connect Spotlight Series.

    Women’s Network

Empowers female professionals in the Greater Wilkes-Barre area, provides opportunities to share information and hear presentation on topics and issues of importance, and gives back to the local community.

The Women’s Network has organized the Athena Panel Luncheon, the Athena Award Presentation, Shop for a Cause, and trips to the NEPA and PA Women’s Conferences, as well as charitable events for local nonprofits which focus us empowering women.

    Young Professional’s Network

Plans and assists the young professionals of Greater Wilkes-Barre to improve their career, develop their leadership abilities, build their professional network, and give back to the Greater Wilkes-Barre community.

In 2016, the Young Professionals Network hosted their first annual Young Professionals Awards Event and Kickball Tournament, and participated in Dragon Boat Races, Snow Tubing Nights, and Networking Mixers. All of these events gave back to the community by donating a portion of the proceeds to local non-profits.

Young Professionals Network members are employees of Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber member businesses or individual members ages 40 or younger.

    Government Affairs

Advocates for local businesses in legislation by reviewing legislation at the local, state, and national levels and recommending both policy and formal positions on these issues to the Chamber of Commerce Board.

The Government Affairs Committee also conducts an Annual Legislative Survey, and hosts the Annual Legislative Breakfast, as well as a variety of forums and educational activities on pertinent issues.
