Awards Program

The Chamber's Awards Program recognizes businesses and individuals throughout the Greater Wyoming Valley area and includes awards presented three to four times a year including:

Charitable Organization of the Year
This award recognizes and honors local nonprofits that have improved the welfare of the Greater Wyoming Valley community.

Emerging Business of the Year Award
This annual award for excellence in business is judged on the following: history of successful business, leadership, marketing, customer satisfaction, and community involvement, for an emerging business in the Greater Wyoming Valley.

Legacy Business of the Year Award
This annual award for excellence in business is judged on the following: history of successful business, leadership, marketing, customer satisfaction, and community involvement for a legacy business in the Greater Wyoming Valley.

Diversity Champion Business of the Year Award
This annual award is aimed at a company that demonstrates support for diversity within their workforce through company goals and efforts to recruit, retain, and nurture a culturally diverse workforce (i.e. goals to increase women, minority, and/or LGBT+ individuals in management structure in upcoming years, how organization celebrates diversity, programs which focus on recruiting and retaining a culturally diverse workforce).

Lifetime Achievement Award
This award is presented to an individual who has made a lasting contribution to our community by exhibiting ethical and effective leadership, providing inspiration to, and positively influencing others in the business community and our community at large.  This award is meant to honor those who have a long-standing history of integrity and are respected both professionally and as a part of our community.

Pride of Place Award
This award recognizes and honors businesses, industries, and organizations that have improved the physical environment of the Greater Wyoming Valley area.

Healthy Workplace Award
This honor is presented to a business that has promoted health and wellness in the workplace. Businesses of all sizes may apply.

ATHENA Award
This honor is presented to a woman who has attained and personifies the highest level of professional excellence in her community in a meaningful way, and most importantly, has generally assisted women in attaining their full potential.

Volunteer of the Year Award
The Award for Volunteer of the Year honors an individual whose voluntary support of community-based and nonprofit organizations in the Greater Wyoming Valley region not only allows these entities to better meet their mission, but also attract and retain other volunteers.

Innovator of the Year Award
This award is presented to an individual with demonstrated ability to drive innovation within our region.

Young Professional of the Year Category Awards 
These awards represent outstanding young professionals in a variety of professional and volunteer categories who live and work in the Greater Wyoming Valley area, are between the ages of 25-40, and are rising stars in their industries as well as their communities.

Young Professional Development Award
This award is presented to a company/organization located in the Greater Wyoming Valley area who has dedicated resources to developing the future leaders of our community. These efforts should be aimed at Young Professionals between the ages of 25-40.
